Royal Equestrian & Camel Festival

Every five years the Sultan of Oman, Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said hosts an extraordinary celebration of the art of riding, combining traditional Omani elements and international show acts. In 2005 and 2010 he relied on German expertise in the realisation of a gigantic show in celebration of the anniversary of his regency.

An experienced event team around business partners Ullrich Kasselmann and Paul Schockemöhle managed to put together a show with 7,000 actors, 1,540 horses, and 740 camels. Over 35 containers with technical equipment were shipped to Oman. For the venue more than 950 computer programmed lights and 180 tons of stage construction equipments were needed. International artists from 12 nations came to join the show, a highlight being the international Olympic dressage quadrille, with Christoph Koschel, Heike Kemmer, Jan Bemelmans, Christilot Boylen, Steffi Kerner, Insa Hansen, and Bianca Kasselmann.

2005 European Dressage Championships

After disagreements with the World Equestrian Federation FEI, Moscow withdrew its promise as host of the 2005 European Dressage Championships. Just shy of 14 days before the scheduled event date Ullrich Kasselmann and Paul Schockemöhle came to the rescue, and thanks to their own and their team’s engagement and expertise they managed to organise a championship-worthy event on the show ground of Hof Kasselmann that all participants would remember for a long time.

FEI World Challenge supported by P.S.I.

The FEI World Challenge has been developed by the World Equestrian Federation FEI with the aim of giving less experienced riders who, under normal circumstances, cannot take part in international competitions and live in the more remote countries, the opportunity to compete internationally without having to leave their own country. The Challenge Finals in dressage and jumping were first created in 2001 under the sponsorship of Performance Sales International or PSI and held at the Kasselmann Stables in Hagen, Germany for the next five years.

2015 CDIO Dressage Nations Cup

The best riders in the world compete once a year in the CDIO, the Nations Cup event for dressage riders, which is normally held as part of the CHIO Aachen tournament. In 2015, however, Aachen was host to the European Championships, and for organisational reasons could not accommodate the traditional Nations Cup. The German Equestrian Federation FN therefore awarded the event to Hof Kasselmann and Horses and Dreams Entertainment.

2016 Global Dressage Forum

The Global Dressage Forum is the leading public debating platform in the world of international dressage. The world’s top riders’ and trainers’ techniques are scrutinised and examined in both practical and theoretical sessions. Current political proposals, which have an impact on dressage sport, are aired, and the latest developments in horse management and sports science are also presented. In 2016 the event took place at Hof Kasselmann and presenters included among others, Jessica von Bredow Werndl, Isabell Werth and Monica Theodorescu.

2016 U25 Dressage European Championships

In June 2016, a European Championship event was held for the first time in the U25 age group. At the “U25 European Dressage Championships” at Hof Kasselmann, riders between 16 and 25 years of age were able compete at Grand Prix level.

Official test of the Olympic Equestrian-Format

At the 2019 Future Champions event, the new format for dressage and show jumping riders, which is to be used for the first time at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, was officially tested at a live event by the World Equestrian Federation FEI. The Young Rider age group was allowed to put the formats through their paces as part of the CSIO-YR and CDIO-YR classes.

P.S.I. Dressage & Jumping with the Stars

This competition is now the Australian Young Dressage Horse Championships with qualifying events all over Australia and run under official Equestrian Australia rules. Since its inception it has grown to become the most prestigious young horse event in Australia. In 2002 the Young Jumping Horse Championships were added and the event became known as Dressage & Jumping with the Stars (DJWTS). The event’s guest stars give the show a unique flavour, and over the years, some of the world’s best equestrian superstars have shared their hard won experience and expertise, including Anky van Grunsven, Helen Langehanenberg, Emile Faurie, Ingrid Klimke and Frederic Wandres to name just a few.
