The P.S.I. team would like to support agriculture in Uganda together with you. For each outgoing New Year’s greeting card 5€ will be donated to the initiative Riding against Hunger.

“Riding against hunger” was launched by Gudrun Bauer, publisher and honorary member of the board of trustees of Welthungerhilfe e.V., and equestrian expert Ullrich Kasselmann, P.S.I. GmbH, Hagen a.T.W.. Through her involvement in the Board of Trustees, Gudrun Bauer is very familiar with the work of Welthungerhilfe. In order to be able to collect donations herself in a legally binding manner, Bauer Charity was additionally founded as a non-profit company in 2014. Social responsibility is closely associated with the Bauer name; for more than 10 years, both the media company in Hamburg and the Bauer family have supported the work of Welthungerhilfe. With over 11,000 employees on four continents,the Bauer Media Group is one of Europe’s leading media companies. The Bauer publishing family has managed the company since it was founded 138 years ago.

Let’s look at Liberia, a country in West Africa devastated by civil war. Or to Burundi, where every third child is malnourished. Under the title: “No CHILD should have to go hungry”, agriculture is taught as a school subject. In the small village school, 100 orphaned, uprooted and traumatized children gather. They learn from a development worker how to grow cassava. Because when each seedling gets its own little mound of earth, the nutrient-rich root tubers grow twice as big as in the traditional method. In addition, a pigsty and a greenhouse are under construction. Dams for a fish pond are being heaped up in the swampy depression. This is intended to ensure the schoolchildren’s sustainable self-sufficiency with nutritious food. With help for self-help. Let’s give a hand! “Reiten gegen den Hunger” has been able to support many projects of Welthungerhilfe e.V. since its foundation. Initiator Gudrun Bauer personally visits the projects to see for herself how the money is being used and what concrete work is being done on the ground.
