Harmonious and mistake-free: Katharina Hemmer and Denoix PCH win in Hagen

(Hagen a.T.W.) Victory in the GumBits Prize, CDI4* Grand Prix, qualifier for the Special on Sunday, went to a rider who has a lot to do this weekend. Katharina Hemmer has four horses competing at the Covalliero Dressage Days at Hof Kasselmann. With top horse Denoix PCH v. Destano, she was the clear winner of today’s four-star Grand Prix with 75.717 percent. The individual scores for the harmonious ride even reached 77.609 percent. After their double success in Münster four weeks ago, the pair continued their good form of the season today. “I’m really happy that we were able to show such a smooth, confident round. He really gave me a good feeling,” said the 30-year-old rider from Hubertus Schmidt’s dressage stable after the performance. “Tomorrow we will try to take a little more risk in the piaffe-passage tour. That is actually one of his highlights, but today it was perhaps still a little cautious, so we want to ride it out a little more,” revealed Hemmer after the first post-ride analysis with trainer Hubertus Schmidt.

Today’s victory crowned a busy but so far effective weekend for Katharina Hemmer: With the Escolar-son Escobar, she took third place in each test of the international small tour. In the national Inter II, nine-year-old Slaide also came third, while Gut Neuenhof’s Elegance placed eighth. “It’s really fun when you can bring so many horses with you, even younger ones that are still growing into the sport,” said the rider from Borchen, explaining her decision to ride in Hagen at the end of the season.

Portuguese rider Nuno Palma Santos recorded a new best score with his Franziskus gelding Fortunity S FRH. The pair, who competed in the final of the Louisdor Prize last December, finished in second place today with 71.543 percent. Juliette Ramel (SWE) and Gideon K.H. completed the podium (71,000). The other placings were close together: Carde Meyer on Surabaya M (69.826) rode to fourth place, just ahead of Evelyn Eger and Tabledance (69.783) and Luca Sophie Collin with Ferrero D (69.457).

The afternoon in Hagen also includes two special highlights: The CDI4* Grand Prix Special at 4.45 pm and the CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle under floodlights, Prize of Performance Sales International. Clipmyhorse.TV is streaming live from Hagen.
