02 Mar Ising Open Sales Celebrate Premiere at Lake Chiemsee – “The Old Masters” Return as a High-Calibre Opening Highlight
(Ising) This spring marks the premiere of a new, high-end auction format: the Ising Open Sales (I.O.S.). On Saturday evening, 18 April, a carefully curated collection of 25 dressage and showjumping horses aged between four and eight will go under the hammer for the first time – both live on-site and online – at the renowned Gut Ising estate on Lake Chiemsee, owned by Sylvia and Dietmar Gugler.
The I.O.S. brings together four internationally established partners who are pooling their experience, networks and quality standards: Gugler Sport Horses, Paul Schockemöhle, Hengststation Pape and Hof Kasselmann. The offering is deliberately aimed at a broad sporting clientele – from promising young prospects to more advanced sport partners for ambitious amateurs and professionals alike. Quality, rideability and long-term potential are at the heart of this new format.
Initiator Dietmar Gugler explains how the idea for the I.O.S. came about: “I worked closely with Paul Schockemöhle and the P.S.I. Auction for many years and, as a buyer for Schockemöhle Stables, was involved with numerous top showjumpers. The idea of organising a spring auction at our beautiful facility has been maturing for a long time. However, I didn’t want to do it alone and was able to inspire strong partners such as Paul Schockemöhle, Ingo Pape and the Kasselmann family to join the project.”
The combination of first-class infrastructure, international expertise and the proven hybrid auction format creates the ideal conditions for a successful debut. Table reservations can already be made via Yvonne Wolking at auction@isingopensales.com or by phone at +49 6157 91540.
“The Old Masters” Celebrate Their Return
A very special highlight awaits visitors on Friday evening, 17 April: the acclaimed event and lecture series “Die Alten Meister” (“The Old Masters”) will celebrate its comeback at Gut Ising – the very venue where the series previously made a celebrated stop.
The evening will focus on the guiding theme: “How to Be a Champion.” On the panel will be showjumping experts including World Champion Simone Blum, Team European Vice-Champion David Will and German national coach Otto Becker. Representing dressage are double Olympic Champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, her brother Benjamin Werndl and young rider trainer Hans-Heinrich Meyer zu Strohen. The panel will be further enriched by legendary professional football coach Hermann “Tiger” Gerland. The evening will be moderated by international dressage judge Nicole Nockemann and renowned sports commentator Carsten Sostmeier.
For more than 15 years, “The Old Masters” ranked among the most successful and respected equestrian educational formats in the German-speaking world. Initiator Frank R. Henning inspired more than 600,000 spectators with his lecture series, featuring distinguished figures such as Monica Theodorescu, Klaus Balkenhol, Jean Bemelmans, Isabell Werth and Hubertus Schmidt, who shared their expertise and the finer points of horsemanship. The goal was always to demonstrate how to train and manage a horse with knowledge, experience and feel. With its revival at Gut Ising, the format continues this successful tradition.
Tickets for the event are priced at €35 and are available now in advance via Reservix:
